Neurodivergent-Affirming
Eating Disorder Provider Directory

LAST UPDATED 04/10/2025

This list of providers was born out of necessity as the buzzwordification of "neurodiversity-affirming" began to make it difficult for clients to differentiate providers with necessary skillsets, areas of knowledge, and lived experience from each other.

This directory, curated over the span of years, is word-of-mouth only. As a result, it is smaller than many others, which can be frustrating for those desperately seeking care. What does this mean? Providers cannot nominate themselves. Rather than opening up applications where anyone can claim to practice , keeping it referral-based means it's actually neurodivergent people and clinicians who work with those people and have heard through the grapevine that their clients felt affirmed doing the vetting. This is based on the principle that a provider doesn't get to tell you the space they create is safe; you tell them. With that in mind, please reach out to me if:

  • You are a provider whose information is listed incorrectly or you would like to be removed or update your listing (e.g. a new website, newly licensed in an additional state).

  • You are a provider whose neurodivergent client reported an affirming experience with another clinician whose name you'd like to submit.

  • You are a client who had an experience with a provider that was not in fact affirming of your neurodivergent identity. They will be removed without your experience being questioned. You are welcome to share any information about the experience, but it will not be shared.

  • You are a client who would like to nominate your clinician. Please include any relevant information about what made your experience great!

Thank you for helping us build a community-based database.

Please note:

  • States with an obelisk (†) next to them are those which do not require and/or regulate licensure for dietitians to practice there via telehealth. Many, but not all, dietitians choose to see clients in all of those states. Therefore, all dietitians who are listed on the "dietitians" page are also listed in their home state but are compiled together here to save those in non-licensure states from the hassle of clicking through every state to see their options. If you are in a non-licensure state, be sure to ask a dietitian you are interested in seeing whether they see people in your state.

  • States with an asterisk (*) next to them are part of PSYPACT, an interstate compact that allows psychologists to practice via telehealth in any state that is a part of the compact. Not all psychologists who are licensed in a PSYPACT state are a part of PSYPACT, as they must obtain additional authorizations. If your state is part of PSYPACT and you're looking for a therapist, check out the PSYPACT page in addition to your home state. Those listed on the PSYPACT page are also listed under the state where they are physically located.

  • Coaches are not licensed professionals with a governing board and thus are not required to adhere to any state regulatory board and may practice anywhere.  Coaches listed provide a variety of services, from executive functioning support and body doubling to experiential meals and may require you to work with additional members of a treatment team in order to receive services from them.
